While I was in Mexico, we went on a fishing boat and caught a big ass tuna! It was so fresh and eating freshly caught fish straight from the water is an experience like no other. Highly suggest doing a fishing experience if you are ever in the Play Del Carmen area. Anyway, before this experience I had been having some amazing tuna tartar’s and ceviches so decided to whip one up for me and my cousins!

Try it below and let me know what you think! Perfect snack for a hot summer day!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound sushi grade tuna, cut into chunks

  • 1 lime, juiced & zested

  • 1 navel orange, juiced and zested

  • 1/4 red onion finely chopped

  • 1/2 cucumber, de-seeded and finely chopped

  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped

  • a handful of flag leaf Italian parsley & cilantro chopped

  • roughly 1 tablespoon of avocado oil

  • salt & pepper, to taste

    Directions

  • Combine all ingredients together except the avocado. You want to add the avocado last so your avocado doesn’t get mushy!

  • Taste to adjust salt & the lime and orange juices. serve immediately because the acid from the limes will start to cook the tuna.

  • Serve with tortilla chips!
